Introducing Our New Western Red Cedar Wood Line

Christmas is right around the corner, and with it comes a yearning for all the comforts of home. Everyone who’s hosting friends and family for the holiday season is busy at work creating a warm and welcoming environment for guests.

While this may not be the time of year to start something new, it’s the perfect time to wrap up your projects before getting knee-deep in the holiday season, and we now have the perfect material for any cozy, North American home.

Introducing the new Western Red Cedar wood line by Stainless Cable & Railing Inc. Also referred to by its Latin name – Thuja Plicata – this honey-colored hardwood has been a North American classic since it was first discovered thousands of years ago. Revered by the Native Americans as the “tree of life,” this wood was used for everything from masks to bowls to totem poles thanks to its smooth grain, bright color, and natural strength and resilience. With its low rate of expansion and contraction, and natural oils that make the wood resistant to rot, moisture, and insects, Western Red Cedar continues to stand out in a global wood market as exceptionally construction-friendly.

Our Western Red Cedar products are responsibly harvested in publicly-managed forests of neighboring Canada. There, this already strong, vibrant wood undergoes meticulous engineering processes to be made even more consistently beautiful and structurally sound. Our top rails are “clear-grade” or free of knots, for a smooth, clean look.

The posts we offer are a product of SynergyPacific called Quattro™ Posts, from their line of Quattro™ Timber. Each beam is comprised of four tight-knot engineered boards that are compressed and fused together into a sturdy end result that boasts a hollow interior. This hollow center makes the beams lighter and easier to work with, while also opening the door to easy wiring and lighting possibilities, a feature that will definitely come in handy as the days grow shorter.

Choose between two sizes for posts and top rails. Our thinner options provide a sleeker, slighter frame for a more minimal look, while a thicker post/top rail combination adds some strong, rustic presence. Mix the two sizes for increased visual interest and a railing that’s truly one-of-a-kind.

Our Western Red Cedar posts and top rails are designed by nature and expertly engineered for unparalleled strength and beauty. Cross railings off your to-do list and warm up your home for the holidays with this lovely North American native.
